The above table represents Portland Coast Prices for the past several years. These ARE NOT averages. The best Coast price for the first working day of each month was selected. The prices ARE NOT indicative of what local area farmers may have received for their grain. Storage, handling and any discounts must be deducted. These DO NOT reflect weighted averages! Namely, 40% of a crop might sell at $2.00 Coast even though later/earlier in the marketing year, the price may have been $6.00. No one may have sold at the $6.00 price level. For those interested, there are copies of 'Average Price Received by Washington Farmers' (MONTHLY) for the period 1910 through 1997 available at our Almota office OR upon request. ...Email... |
