Mall Show:

There was some preliminary discussion of arrangements for the mall show. Bertle Spence has been the coordinator for the mall show for the last several years and has agreed to coordinate the event again this year.

The date for the mall show will be determined based on university spring break schedules and the event schedule of the mall. We will try for mid-March.

Club Bylaws:

The AMA will require that all chartered clubs have formal bylaws by 2003. Recommended bylaws are available. Important items to be included are membership (resignation, termination, disciplinary action, expulsion and reinstatement), dissolution (what to do with club assets should the club cease operations), and grievance procedures. Club officers will draft club bylaws for review by the membership.

Superbowl Snow Fly-In:

Jeff and Tawny Nelson will be hosting this event at their home near Troy, Idaho. This year the Superbowl has been delayed until February 3, so the Superbowl Snow Fly-In will be on Saturday, February 2.

Airplane construction projects:

Ted Frisbee says he has fixed wing projects that he's holding off on until he gets two helicopters repaired. Bruce Bumgarner is building a six-foot version of the "Zagi" flying wing slope soarer. Don Hart is building a replacement for his six-year-old profile fun fly plane. The new fun fly plane is called the "Sirex Hornet", a variation of a very successful design by Don Incoll from Australia. Plans and construction details are available on the web at http://www.users.bigpond.com/sirexwasp/ . Don also plans to build a new fuselage for the 1/4 scale J-3 Cub that was involved in a mid-air collision this fall.

Flying:

Dave Walker flew off the snow at Mountain View Park in Moscow. He had trouble getting his float equipped plane off the wet, sticky snow, but did manage one good flight before rain and darkness forced him to give up for the day.

We will be flying from the snow at John Sawyer Field as soon as good weather conditions and sufficient snow arrive at the same time. Time to get those skis built and on a plane!

Dress warmly and have fun!
