Runners Fall Picnic and Fun Fly
John Sawyer Field
The September club meeting will be at John Sawyer Field, flying begins about 5pm with a short business meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, September 2. In the event there is unflyable weather (unlikely according to the forecast) the meeting will be a Jack-in-the-Box in Moscow at 7pm (contact Dave Walker for information (208) 882-9180).

Thursday flying sessions at Sawyer Field have been
very well attended. Unfortunately, sunset is coming earlier, so evening flying
sessions will be shorter and shorter until they are no longer practical. Sunday
flying sessions will continue, depending on weather conditions.

The August meeting was held at Sawyer Field at about 7pm.
Dave Walker (president) and Joe Bolden have continued to attend meetings with Moscow Parks and Rec. The flying field is in the plans for the new park, but new people have joined the discussion with requests for changes to the planned facilities at the park, possibly lengthening the process.
So, don’t plan on flying at the new park this year, but let’s not give up hope. Support efforts for a new field.
