The meeting was held at the Latah Room in the University Inn Best Western in Moscow on Tuesday, May 3. Called to order by Dave Walker, President.

Minutes from the previous meeting were read, amended and approved.

 

 

Treasurer Report

 

There is a balance of $2989.31 ($175 went for the roller rental).

 

 

Old Business

 

Club Dues

 

Club dues are $20 for individuals and $30 for family membership. Please pay dues to Colleen Bungarner soon so you will be included on the official club roster when the club AMA charter is renewed.

 

Fuel Order

 

The minimum order was not met, so there was no order this year. Wally Bigelow has ordered fuel for the Hodgins Drug Hobbies Department, so see him for fuel.

 

Flying Field Update

 

Sawyer Field

 

Bruce Bumgarner says that Sawyer field is the best ever!

 

Chambers Road

 

Wally Bigelow says there is nothing new on the Chambers Road location, but he will follow up.

 

Philips Farm County Park

 

Joe Bolden flew two planes. Three adults and three kids were present.  There were no complaints from other park users.

 

Albion Road

 

Bob Boettcher says there is no new information on possible use of the Albion Road field. 

 

New Moscow Park

 

Electric flying is possible at the new  park on Palouse River Road south of Moscow. However, this is NOT an official club flying site.

 

New Business

 

Thursday Evening flying

 

Thursday evening flying at Sawyer’s R/C Field is in full swing!  Flying starts around 5pm and goes until dark.  There’s shade and a great place to fly (when the weather cooperates).

 

Spring Fun Fly

 

The Spring Fun Fly has been scheduled for Saturday June 25  Dave Walker has lots of venison burger (as well as regular ground beef) for the BBQ.

 

Glider Meet

 

Bruce reminded the group of the Orrin Crooks Memorial glider contest at the Lewiston flying field at Mann Lake east of Lewiston on May 14-15.

Demonstration

 

Air and Space Museum Annex

 

Dave Walker showed pictures of the new Smithsonian Air and Space Museum Annex at Dulles Airport near Washington, DC.

 

USS Intrepid

 

Wally Bigelow showed his model of the USS Intrepid WWII aircraft carrier. It is 1:350 scale and took about 1000 hours to build and detail.  Lots of planes on the flight deck and the hanger deck. Wally won the People’s Choice Best of Show and 2nd place in his group at a recent model show.
