After a brief business meeting, Mel Colvin will present a video program on the Scalemasters Qualifier in Nampa and a Jet Rally in Deer Lodge, Montana. If anyone has a new plane, bring it to show it off.

Monthly Fun Fly

Thanks to Mel Colvin, Sam Hord and Larry Bobisud, contest directors for the Thursday August 25 Fun Fly.

Fall Picnic and Fun Fly

The fall BBQ and Fun Fly was scheduled for Saturday September 17. Sam Hord, Mel Colvin and Larry Bobisud were the CD’s for fun fly events. The club to provide prizes. Master chef Dave Walker promised venison burgers and beef burgers for the grill.

 

New Business

Elections for 2006 Club Officers

There was discussion of how to proceed with elections of club officers for next year. Options included a nominating committee, an open ballot or the old-fashioned "railroad" strategy. A nominating committee made up of three members (Don Hart (chair), Larry Bobisud and Jerry Becker) was the preferred strategy.

Meeting adjourned.

 

Demonstrations

Dave Walker presented a program on flight trimming – Part 2.

Starting with a plane trimmed for straight and level flight, Dave went through the steps to properly determine proper engine side thrust, engine up or down thrust, longitudinal CG, lateral balance and separation of rudder and aileron effects.

Don Hart showed his new electric powered plane. This plane is his own design profile, based on existing 3D gas and electric models including the Hots, Mojo, and ‘Lectric Edge. The model was at the "almost ready to cover stage".
