Old Business

Mall Show

The Mall Show is scheduled for the 4th weekend in March (March 24, 25 and 26). Bertle Spence (event coordinator) has requested 22 tables somewhere away from the game room (too noisy). Byron showed the Park Zone P-51 RTF for the raffle. Thanks to Hodgins Drug and Wally Bigelow for the good price on the raffle prize.

Sign-up sheets for manning the mall show were passed around.

Sawyer Field

John Sawyer has some sulfur to put on the runway to discourage the worms.  The runway will be rolled soon. John would like members to help with raking to smooth out the worm mounds before the runway is rolled.

Name Tags

Name tags have been ordered and will be handed out at the mall show.

Club Information

Byron Stevenson has updated the club information at area hobby shops with the new officers.

Meeting adjourned.

Thanks to Heather Stevenson for her meeting notes.

Demonstrations

Dave Walker says the flying in Arizona was great – a long dry spell made for good flying weather. He also said that Al Culver go third place in a Quick 500 race there.

Barry Grussling showed his E-FliteBlade CPRTF electric helicopter. This is the single blade version – about $220 complete. Fortunately parts are cheap. Barry ran it into his garage door and had to replace rotor blades ($12-$15). He also flies it in his basement.

Byron Stevenson showed the Park Zone P-51 RTF that will be given away at the mall show raffle.

Dave Walker showed his Citizenship proportional radio sysem.  This is an early two channel system. The servos have linear rather than rotary output and are HUGE!

Jerry Becker showed his Sterling Citabria, an early stick and tissue free-flight model he built from a kit and converted to electric power. He used Microlite covering and Econokote trim. Jerry says the Microlite covering is great stuff. The Citabria has an IPS motor and gearbox. The battery hatch is held in place with rare earth magnets from Radio Shack. Good job Jerry!
