July Meeting
Reminder: the date for the July meeting has been moved to Tuesday July 11 due to the 4th being the first Tuesday in July.
Fence for Pilot Stations
Sam Hord reported that Mel Colvin has acquired the removable fencing for pilot stations to meet AMA safety requirements at club events. The fencing is orange plastic fencing used for construction perimeters. It will be made removable to ease mowing and other field maintenance. Two pilot stations will be installed.
Club Swap Meet
There were lots of sellers, but not many buyers. A few of the kits left from Chuck Shuring’s collection were sold, along with some modeling accessories. It seems many people were interested in selling planes, but few were interested in acquiring new ones.
Suggestions for improving the swap meet are welcome.
Flight Training During Club Events
There was discussion about whether buddy box flight training should occur during club events such as our picnics. No consensus was arrived at, so the topic was tabled for now.
New Business
Byron Stevenson has new safety rules signs sent by AMA. These should be displayed during club events. Bob Boettcher has plastic sheets he will donate for these signs to be mounted on the fence at Sawyer Field.
Meeting adjourned.
