Notes from the February Meeting:

The meeting was held at Jack-in-the-Box in Moscow on Tuesday, February 7. Called to order by Byron Stevenson, President.

Club Dues Are Due!

Club dues are due in March: $20 for an individual or $30 for a family.

 

Old Business

Mall Show

The Mall Show is scheduled for the 4th weekend in March (March 24, 25 and 26). Bertle Spence (event coordinator) has requested 22 tables somewhere away from the game room (too noisy).

Moved, seconded and passed to purchase a Park Zone P-51 package ($125) for the raffle prize through Wally Bigelow at Hodgins Drug.

Moved, seconded and passed to sell raffle tickets for $1 each or 10 for $5.

Joe Bolden notified the Lewiston Club about our mall show by email.

Set up will begin at 7pm Thursday, March 23. Signup for manning the display will be at the March meeting and again at set up.

New Trainer

The club purchased a like-new Hanger 9 Alpha trainer with 40 engine, JR Quatro radio and field equipment from club member Subit Chandra (he returned to India). Also included in the $250 package were a rubber powered plane and another 2-channel R/C plane. The Alpha trainer will be used in the club R/C flight training program.

Bertle Spence had surgery January 18. He is on the mend.

Demonstrations

Don Hart showed his new E-Flite Mini Edge 540 3D ARF scale aerobatic plane. Wingspan is 37.25 inches. Construction is balsa and ply. It is powered by a Himax 2816-0890 outrunner w/ stick mount, uses a Castle 25 amp ESC, and Thunder Power 1900 Li-Poly 3S 11.1v battery pack. It has not flown yet.

E-Flite Mini Edge 540 3D ARF

 

Don Hicks showed his scratch built (from plans) Southern Eagle sport aerobatic plane. Construction is balsa and ply. It is covered in yellow and purple Monokote (it should be very easy to see in flight). Power is a Magnum 75 2-stroke engine. It has not flown yet.

 

Jerry Becker showed his new E-Flite Ultimate FX 3D ARF biplane. Wingspan is 28 inches. Construction is foam with a molded fuselage (not a profile). It is powered by an E-Flite 370 5400 in-runner on a 6.6:1 gearbox driving an 11x4.7 APCe prop and using a 2S 7.4v LiPoly battery pack. It has not flown yet.
