Mid-summer
Picnic?
Harry Evans suggested that we hold a
mid-summer picnic and fun fly. This will
be added to the planning agenda for next year.
It was Joe Bolden’s 71st birthday! Joe showed his E-Flite Mini
Ultra Stick. He’s using an E-Flite 450 outrunner motor, Thunder Power 1100 LiPoly
battery pack and E-Flite S75 servos all around. It
has quad-flaps (flaps and ailerons that can be mixed to work together as
ailerons or separately in various configurations).
Harry Evans brought
the uncovered airframe for his Great
Planes Ultimate biplane. It has 4 ailerons, will have an OS46FX for power
and have an orange and white color scheme.
Jerry Becker
showed his Hyperion YAK 54 scale aerobatic
electric ARF. It has a Hyperion outrunner motor (1200
watts on 5 cells, 950 watts on 4 cells) and a Thunder Power 5S 4200 battery
pack. Jerry estimates 30 minutes of flying time on a charge.
Jerry also showed his Great Planes Dazzler ARF. It’s powered
by an E-Flite 32 outrunner
motor. It hadn’t been flown yet.
Byron Stevenson
showed parts of the crashed
Barry Grussling
brought his T-Rex SE mini-helicopter
with carbon fiber components. It is powered by an Align 450L electric motor and
uses Hitec HS56 servos and a Thunder Power 3S 2100 LiPoly battery pack. Barry says it can fly about 20 minutes
on a charge and is fully 3-D capable.
No local events on
the schedule.
