Old Business

Flying Report

Turn out at Sawyer's field has been good...12 people turned out last Thursday night. Keith has been doing very well and looks to be almost ready to solo. Sam has also been doing some training on the buddy box and is looking good. Richard has gotten in some significant air time, and is flying well, but an unplanned "side hill" arrival has given his aircraft a momentary setback.

Spring Picnic and Fun Fly

Joe Bolden reported that the CD(s) have planned 3 events for the Fun Fly. There will be two known events and one unknown event. The two known events are 1) perform an Immelman and 2) perform a 1/2 Cuban Eight. The unknown event will be announced at the start of the contest. There will be no timed events.

Safety Bench

Bertle Spence showed a prototype folding safety bench. It is a very slick design that folds for storage. It was decided that we should commission one bench to start with, and depending on use and utility, perhaps build another later on.

New Business

Field Maintenance

John Sawyer has not yet submitted a bill for the cost of rolling the field. Jerry will ask him about it. It was brought to our attention that we should be more conscious of observing proper etiquette when flying with others. We should all get in the habit of announcing takeoffs and landings and generally observing AMA rules when at the field.

More volunteers are needed to mow the runway. Contact Jerry Becker about the location of the mower.

Sport Flyer Magazine

Dave Walker handed out copies of the new Sport Flyer magazine.

Meeting adjourned.

Thanks to Colleen Bumgarner and Jerry Becker for their meeting notes.

Demonstrations

Jerry Becker brought a T-Rex 600 helicopter and a T-Rex 450 Helicopter. The 600 is powered by a 600BL Electric motor fueled by a 6S2P 4200Mah LiPo. The 450 is powered by a 430BL Electric motor and fueled by a 3S 2100 LiPo.

We watched a video on the 1971 World Championships.
