Old Business
Super Bowl Snow Fly
The Super Bowl Snow Fly and potluck event was held at John Sawyer's
shop
at noon on Saturday, February 2. There was no flying, but there
was lots of good food, good friends and good times had by all.
John Sawyer showed the bare bones of the fuselage of his 1/4
scale SIG J-3 Cub. The 4 cylinder opposed OS engine was installed.
Mall Show
Planning
The mall show was originally scheduled for three days, but the mall
closure on Sunday for Easter shortened the event to two days. Displays
must be taken down Saturday evening - closing time is 9pm. A Blade CX e-powered
ready to fly coaxial helicopter with 2.4 GHz radio system was selected as the raffle prize.
Raffle tickets are 10 (12 for members) for $5 or $1 each.
Results
There were 18 planes and 1
display of motors. The best of show as voted on by the public was
1. Gunnar Sorem: Sopworth Camel
2. Larry Bobisud: Mesquito
3. Jerry Becker: SE5A
4. Bruce Bumgarner: Rascal 72.5".
Winning the drawing for the helicopter was Jon Scott from
Pullman who works in office with Jerry Becker and the kit Sig 4 Star
(donated by Les Grammer) was won by Kaleb
Kolb, Don's young son and a member of our club.
I'm depositing $443.00 dollars which includes dues of $130.00 and
$313.00 from the raffle.
$30.00 of the dues were from former member Ryan Stolz from Colfax.
Welcome back

New Business
First Aid Kit
Mel Colvin will do an inventory of the flying field first aid kit (located just inside the
garage). Items will be replaced or added as needed to meet expected needs.
Lawn
Mower
Mel Colvin offered to sell a used Murray 42 inch cut 14 hp riding mower to the club
for $375. The old mower is getting unreliable. It was rebuilt by Bertle
Spence several years ago and has served us well, but needs to be replaced.
Randy Sexton will check with John Sawyer about storage for this mower.
Fuel Order
Joe Bolden offered to get information on a possible bulk Magnum fuel order.
Meeting adjourned.
Thanks to Colleen for her meeting notes.
Demonstrations
Don Kolb showed the
Butterfly his wife and son
Kaleb covered. It has a 99 inch span. It is set up with 3 channels - rudder, elevator and throttle. The engine is a .25.
Don Hart showed his latest profile model, dubbed the
WoJo by Jerry Becker. It has a 44 inch span and is powered by an OS60FP swinging a 13x4 APC prop. It has the wing from the
Sirex Wasp, an Australian design, and a fuselage inspired by the
Mojo,
a popular 3D profile kit designed and sold by Paul Swanson of Tennesee.
This plane was built to replace the well worn Wasp that has flown many
years, using 4 different engines.
Jerry Becker showed his birthday present, a
Cessna 210
ARF. The plane is molded foam with a span of 18 inches. It comes with a
three channel 2.4 GHz radio system installed and uses a lipo pack for
power. Jerry says it charges in about 15 minutes. The cost is a very
reasonable $140. It is intended for indoor flying or calm conditions
outdoors.
