The Confederate Air Force B-17 will be in Lewiston for the Lewiston Air Fair July 4th. Rides will be available (for a fee).

Nampa (Idaho ScaleSquadron) scale masters qualifier June 19-21.

Glider meet in TriCities  June 20-21. CD is Les Grammer.

Parma Jet Rally June 12-14.

Dave Walker reported "smoking" a transmitter by mixing Hitec and Futaba transmitters in a buddy box set up. Dave used a Futaba buddy box cord. A Hitec buddy box cord should have been used since it passes only the signal, not power between the TXs. To be safe use transmitters of the same brand and use the proper cord. A "dummy" buddy box (no power) should be safe with any brand.

Flying/Building Reports

The float fly at Nisqually John Landing on the Snake River had great weather and a good turnout. This was a two day event. On Saturday, Jerry Becker flew his GWS Tiger Moth biplane, GWS Cessna and Hangar 9 J-3 Cub.  Don Hart flew his own design "Retread". Turnout Sunday was light - only Don Hart and Mike Marsh flew.

The Orrin Crooks Memorial Glider Meet at Mann Lake had good weather and 15 pilots (five flew in two classes).  Eight minutes precision duration tasks were flown most of the weekend, though a ten minute task was flown Saturday. The event cleared $20 after expenses.

The PRRCF Spring Fly-In and Picnic had a great turnout and LOTS of flying.  The "Lucky Hand" format encouraged much more flying than usual.  Pilots earned one playing card for each flight. At the end of the day, the best five card poker hand won.  Mike Marsh won the prize, an Axe CX Micro electric heli, with a full house.

Bob Boettcher reported that there is a new paved circle at the Schweitzer complex in Pullman that would be appropriate for electric powered flying.

There have been numerous reports of crashes when flying on 2.4GHz.  They are most often due to either low voltage reboots of the receivers or failure to re-bind after making programming changes.  Six volt receiver battery packs may prevent the reboots.

Old Business

Flying in the Park

Joe Bolden, Dave Walker and Jerry Becker have been working with Moscow Parks and Recreation to schedule an event in Mountain View Park.  The event is scheduled for Saturday September 19th.

Radio Control Class

Moscow Parks and Recreation has agreed to a four week class with a maximum of 10 students. B&B Hobbies in Spokane has a special deal on Slow Sticks - $150 complete with plane and radio system.

AMA Membership Drive

Jerry Becker got beginner materials from AMA for the Flying In the Park event.

Potlatch Field

Some work has been done on the runway at the old Potlatch mill site in Potlatch.  Hay bales have been moved from the runway, weeds have been sprayed and some cracks have been filled.  A work party will be scheduled after an assessment what more work is needed by Jerry Becker and Joe Bolden.

New Business

Fuel Order

There will be NO club fuel order this year.

Summer Fun Fly

The Summer Fun Fly is scheduled for Saturday July 18.  Playing cards will again be earned for each flight with best poker hand winning a prize to be obtained by Jerry Becker (in the $100 range).  Possible events include a balloon bust (Mike Marsh?) and paint ball anti-aircraft (Dana Gutshall has offered his CoroStar Colt).

Program

There was no program.
