Mark Scarborough and Rob Smith are building a "Snowbird" control line stunter, a 1963 design with elliptical wing layout. It will be electric powered. Mark has a "Dirty Birdy" R/C pattern plane with a Rossi 60. He is also interested in other classic pattern planes.

Club Trainers and Instructors
Jerry Becker will pay AMA to register instructors: Joe Bolden, Dave Walker, Don Hart, John Sawyer and Jerry Becker. The club will reimburse Jerry. We need an inventory of club trainers. Some instructors supply their own planes and radios.
Super Bowl Snow Fly
The Super Bowl Snow Fly will be on Saturday February 5. Planning at the December meeting.Mall Show
Bertle Spence will be asked to contact the mall management about the possibility for a club mall show in March.
Mark Scarborough demonstrated covering a balsa sheeted foam core wing with UltraCote film covering.
Mark stressed the importance of using the right temperature for applying and shrinking UltraCote. Hanger-9, the manufacturer, says UltraCote adhesion to wood begins at 200 to 220 degrees F, shrinkage onset begins at 300 degrees F, and maximum shrinkage is at 350 degrees F.
Mark uses a covering iron with a "sock" to prevent scratching for general application and a trim iron for corners. He uses "hot gloves" he got at the hardware for $3.50 (Tower Hobbies wants $15!) to grip the film while stretching it over curved surfaces such as wing tips.Super Bowl Snow Fly will be on Saturday February 5 at Sawyer RC Field.
