Lewiston Club Foat Fly at Nisqually John Landing on Saturday August 27.
Don Hart reported that the Tolo Lake Fun Fly was great fun. Several members of the Lewiston club attended along with several Grangeville flyers. Flying included glider towing, balloon busting and lots of sport flying. Don broke two props on his Byron Pipe Dream.
Don Hart has his newly acquired Proctor Antic Biplane nearly ready to fly. This is a 65 inch span model built like a full scale early 1900's plane with lots of bracing wires and pull-pull controls on elevator, rudder and ailerons. It has a Saito 82 for power.
The Sass boys have been working this summer to earn money for models. Tyler Sass reported that he has a new model nearly ready to fly.
Joe Bolden has his Spot On model nearly ready. He's waiting on a part to be delivered.
Phil Tallman reported that he has been flying, crashing and hiking at Leroy Johnson's field south of Pullman. His 70" span Extra failed to come out of a spin and crashed in the field across the ditch parallel with the runway. The landing gear was taken out. Then a foam biplane lost its top wing and his Rascal receiver battery failed.
Mark Scarborough put the maiden flight on his 77 inch span Edge 540 scale aerobatic plane at Sawyer field. It hit the power line at the south end of the runway near the highway. The impact cracked the cowl and broke the prop and spinner. Repairs will be easy. Mark upgraded his Ugly Stick with a 52 four stroke engine. He has acquired a 30 year old Phoenix 6 (a 60 size 1980's pattern plane that was being stored in his garage) and a Dirty Birdy 40 kit.Bruce Bumgarner has been flying an indoor electric dual rotor helicopter - lots of fun
Ken Shumate (new member) got his dad's (Vince O'Brian) RC planes. He has a PT40 trainer started and also has a Piper J-3 Cub model.Elmer Carlson has a trainer built and needs buddy box time. Joe Bolden offered to help.
Dave Walker has been fishing in Alaska.

The Potlatch RC flight demo went well. Phil Tallman was on the PA system in the park describing flights by Don Hart, Dave Walker, Mike Marsh and Jerry Becker.
