Mike Mosbrooker has been elected as the new AMA District XI VP effective January 1.

Flying/Building Reports

Elmer Carlson is buildling a Crackerjack from RC Modeler magazine plans. This is a 1/3 scale model of a homebuilt plane. He showed a few of the large built-up ribs he's constructed so far. Span will be 112 inches.

Mark Scarborough has a new belt/disk sander to speed up his builds.

Phil Talman is building two J-3 Cub models, one in Pullman and one in Spokane.

Bruce Bumgarner is repairing a Topaz glider he bought used from John Sandell

Carson Sass showed the fuselage he's been working on for a Thrush crop duster model. This is a small version to work out how to build the 82 inch span version. Carson drew his own (very impressive) plans. This is a scale model is of a plane at Pete Fountain's field just south of Moscow.

Don Hart is currently building the wing for a Tanzer Speedwing from  Flying Models magazine plans. The low wing model has an 80 inch span and will be powered with a DLE 30cc gas engine.

Super Bowl Snow Fly

The 2012 Super Bowl Snow Fly is scheduled for Saturday February 4 at Sawyer Field. This will be a Potluck event (no BBQ). Who knows, we might even have snow..

Glider Meet 

The annual Orrin Crooks Memorial Glider Meet will be on May 12-13 at the Mann Lake field near Lewiston. This event is sponsored by the Palouse Flyers. Bruce Bumgarner is the contest director.

Program

Phil Talman showed his Blade 120 BNF fixed pitch helicopter. It is very stable and flies easily in Phil's apartment.
