Flying/Building Reports

Joe Bolden reported that he has been building, not flying.

Vance Penton is too busy with his business for modeling.

Steve Overley sold some planes to Charlie Townsend in Lewiston. Steve has been painting planes and riding his new bike. A Spitfire is for sale for $90 - repainted with green and sand camo scheme using "Apple Barrel" brand paints in an airbrush.

Don Hart has been flying indoors in Asotin and continues to build on his large Mojo 65 profile project.

Bruce Bumgarner has been flying his Blade heli (needs parts after accident at the Snow Fly). Bruce is currently painting his new Fun Cub.

Ken Shumate (new member) has had a problem binding his Spektrum DX6i transmitter and receiver. Probably a bad ESC not providing power. Don Hart brought a 4.8V receiver battery and servo to the meeting and successfully got the binding to work.

Elmer Carlson has been  working on his Crackerjack build.

Old Business

Super Bowl Snow Fly Report

Fifteen attended the event. The weather was good enough (no snow and light winds) that 6 pilots flew. There was lots of great food and hanger flying.

New Business

Mall Show?

Colleen Bumgarner will contact the Palouse Mall for a possible mall show date. Probably late March. The big question is whether enough members are available to man the display for three days.

Program

Elmer Carlson showed the uncovered fuselage for his Crackerjack building project. Elmer started the project in 1985 followed by about a 18 year gap.

A cabane jig is used to align the wing above the fuselage at a +2 degree incidence. Elmer needs to build eight 5/16" brass tubing struts to mount the wing. The planned power is an OS120 twin four-stroke (if Elmer can locate one).

Upcoming Events

Polar Bear Fly-In was re-scheduled for Saturday March 2 at the Mann Lake RC field near Lewiston.
