Flying/Building Reports

Almost every flyer said it was too hot to fly, everyone was just trying to stay cool.

Bruce Bumgarner has his Fun Cub ready to fly. He had to make a box to fit the battery in as it did not balance out like the instructions said. Bruce had to make it an easy to get to item.

Dave Walker attended the Deer Park Bush Plane and Vintage Aircraft Fly In on Saturday July 20.

Mark Scarborough flew in a pylon racing contest at Deer Park. His Shoestring did not recover when settling in for turn. The plane was damaged, but flyers from Deer Park took it home that night and repaired it. Mark flew it on Sunday. Mark was leading in a 4 by 4 race leading in time when his plane was hit by another plane. Total destruction spread over a large run way area.

The plane Mark had on display for Mall Show would never fly right. Discovered a crack in the bottom. It's now just a plane for display.

.
Dave Walker had a slide show of all the planes at the Deer Park Bush Plane and Vintage Aircraft Fly In and also RC model planes from Spokane Barons and Inland Empire Quiet Flyers clubs. Leroy Johnson knew all the vintage planes and had flown some. Vance and Mark also told about some of the planes shown.  Beautiful 1938 Boeing early mail plane restored and after 2016 will go to a museum somewhere.
