Flying/Building Reports
Dave Walker flew his GB Eagle at Potlatch with Jerry Becker. Dave brought a small Cub to the meeting. It needs a 900 maH pack to balance.
Sam Sorem
has one of his giant scale Hawker Hurricane ready to fly as soon as the
broken tail wheel mount is repaired. Sam also has a 50cc YAK and
30cc YAK scale aerobatic planes ready to fly as well as a camera
carrying MiniStik.
LeRoy Johnson has a new Sport Cub...
Elmer Carlson has flown his Fun Cub and has the Tower Trainer, a glow powered club trainer, ready to fly.
Bob Kaley has built 7 tricopters and sold 5 of them in tdhe last three months. Bob is starting to learn to fly fixed wing planes.

Fall BBQ and Fun Fly Planning.
The
Fall BBQ and Fun Fly was scheduled for Saturday September 27. Dave
Walker will be the burger chef and will provide the burgers, buns and
condiments. Don Hart will check with John Sawyer about soft drinks for
the event.
Program
Dave Walker: "Perfecting Your Takeoffs With RC Planes"
Dave
identified and explained the forces acting on aircraft during takeoff
with tricycle gear planes and tail-draggers. Forces include gyroscopic
effects, spiral air flow over the airframe, P-factor and torque.Dave distributed handouts explaining the basics of takeoffs with RC model aircraft in calm and windy conditions.
